Unmanned robotic six-wheeled platform GNOM

The new unmanned six-wheeled platform GNOM is a multifunctional robotic platform for solving the following tasks:

  • increased cross-country ability
  • enhanced moisture protection, to move through a ford
  • platform control via fiber optic during electro-magnetic warfare (EW)
Surveillance and reconnaissance

Due to its small size and almost silent movement, GNOM can conduct covert surveillance using a circular survey camera on a telescopic mast.
The communication system and energy reserve allow for reconnaissance and surveillance at a distance of up to 5 km.

Delivery and transportation

Optimal dimensions and carrying capacity make it possible to carry out almost invisible delivery of ammunition and food in combat conditions, without personnel risk.
GNOM can also transport the wounded using a special transport trolley.

Increasing the range of radio communication and control of unmanned systems

GNOM can receive a radio signal, amplify and transmit further, performing the function of a repeater.

With the use of several GNOMEs, this function is extremely useful, allowing, in combat conditions, to deploy its own network for coordination the actions of units and the operation of unmanned systems.

Satellite for larger robotic platforms

Robots – satellites significantly increase the efficiency of combat robotic platforms by allowing:

  • conduct reconnaissance reducing the risk of losing a combat robotic platform
  • lead the definition of targets and adjust the fire
  • when the communication channel is weakened, leave the satellite in the repeater mode and expand the range of the combat robotic platform
  • use the satellite as a dummy target (repeater of a radio point, sim-cards for mobile communications, creating an image using a projector), to identify enemy positions, etc.
GNOM control system features:

Onboard singleboard computer Odyssey

  • motion control of the robotic platform

Depth camera with laser dot emitter Intel RealSense Depth Camera

  • identification of objects and obstacles

Autonomous control:

  • SMART TRACK
    • movement behind the driving car / object
  • by GPS
    • movement from point to point
    • return “home” when the control channel disappears
  • without GPS
    • movement during electronic warfare

Remote control:

  • locally (line of sight): gestures, voice, leash
  • remotely: from an operator station, from a tablet, from a smartphone

Actual control range: up to 5 km
